Ombu is a guest and hunting farm of about 11,600 hectares in the Erongo Mountains on the D2316, roughly 50 km west of Omaruru and around 300 km from Windhoek’s international airport. It has four guest rooms with private bathrooms and three campsites, which are placed five to eight kilometres apart. Guests are catered for with three buffet meals a day, using meat from the farm butchery, home-baked bread and garden produce. The farm runs on roughly 90 percent solar-generated 220V power and has a bar, mini-bars in the rooms and free Wi-Fi; hunting and non-hunting guests are not hosted at the same time. Activities include game and night drives, hiking trails, rock-engraving tours and sundowners; the farm is a member of the Erongo Mountain Nature Sanctuary.
