Oppi-Koppi is the long-standing rest camp on the edge of Kamanjab, and for many overland and self-drive travellers it is simply where you stop. It offers both camping and built rooms, which is unusual this far west and makes it workable whether you are carrying a tent or not. The bar and pool have a reputation among people driving the northern circuit, and the camp fills in the high season precisely because Kamanjab has so few alternatives. Book ahead between June and September rather than arriving on spec.
