Sharwimbo River Camp lies 25 km south of Kongola on the elevated banks of the Kwando River in the Mashi Conservancy. The camp has self-catering pole-and-canvas chalets and five campsites. Each chalet has two three-quarter beds with mosquito nets, an en-suite bathroom with hot water, 12 V solar lighting and an equipped kitchen nook with a scullery and a two-plate gas stove; extra single beds for children are available on request. The five campsites each have their own braai and share a communal ablution facility with 12 V solar lighting and hot showers, and a fully equipped kitchen is available to groups on request. Accommodation is strictly self-catering. The camp offers three-hour nature drives and one-hour boat trips. Children up to five years stay free and children aged 6 to 13 are charged 50 per cent of the adult rate; pets are not allowed.
