Amanzi River Camp lies on the north bank of the Orange River approximately 16 km downstream of the Noordoewer border post and is operated by Amanzi Trails. The camp has twenty-four spacious, shady, grassed campsites, each taking one to four vehicles with room for caravans and trailers. Ablutions are shared, in blocks with hot showers, alongside cold-water sinks near the sites and a scullery with hot water. There is a bar and an on-site store selling meat, ice, firewood and braai packs, with a general dealer 10 km away in Noordoewer. Camping is self-catering, with meals available on request and bread by advance order. The access route is tarred apart from the final 2.5 km of gravel from the turn-off and is passable in any vehicle. Activities are canoeing and rafting from day trips to five-day expeditions, birdwatching with over 120 recorded species, fishing for yellowfish and catfish, San petroglyphs a ten-minute walk from the campsite, mountain biking at Tandjieskoppe, trail running and rock climbing in King’s Throne Canyon. Dogs are not permitted.
