Fiume Lodge lies north-east of Grootfontein on the long stretch of road that runs towards Rundu and the Kavango. This is broad bush country with very little between towns, and the value of a lodge here is that it breaks a drive most travellers underestimate. The lodge is on farmland with game, and it suits people heading for the north-east rivers who do not want to arrive at Rundu after dark. It is a route stop with substance rather than a destination.
