Waterberg Plateau Lodge stands in the Waterberg Wilderness private nature reserve on the southern slope of the Waterberg massif, east of Otjiwarongo. The lodge has eight double-room chalets, each with a shower and toilet, a sitting area and a fireplace, and every chalet has a private patio with a plunge pool and sits among red sandstone rocks. Power is 220 V solar, rated for hairdryers, shavers and battery chargers. The restaurant serves a set dinner menu and has a wide view, a fireplace, lounge, bar and observation deck, and there is a swimming pool. Free wireless internet with limited bandwidth is available in the restaurant only, and laundry service requires a minimum stay of two nights. Rates are quoted per person on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis with afternoon coffee and cake included. Activities are a plateau hike, a rhino drive and rhino tracking on foot; pre-booking of activities requires a stay of two nights or more. Check-in is from 14:00, the gate closes at 19:00 and rooms must be vacated by 10:00; drones are prohibited and day visitors are not admitted.
