Namtib Desert Lodge lies in the Namtib Biosphere Reserve in the Tiras Mountains on the D707, between Helmeringhausen and Aus. The lodge has five bungalows with double beds, one family chalet and two single rooms, taking a maximum of sixteen guests. The operator describes the rooms as colourful and rustic, with showers and toilets. Rates are full board, covering a home-cooked three-course dinner and breakfast using seasonal vegetables, game meat and home-baked bread, some of it locally sourced. The lodge sits on a working farm inside a private biosphere reserve on the edge of the Namib. It is positioned as a stop between the Fish River Canyon and the Sossusvlei and Sesriem area, and reservations are handled directly by the operator.
