Eagle’s Nest is the self-catering chalet accommodation on the Klein-Aus Vista estate in the Aus Mountains east of Aus, off the B4. There are seven chalets built into rounded granite boulders, comprising three twin and four triple units. Each chalet is en-suite with a shower and has a small kitchen for self-catering, a fireplace, fridge, mini-bar, safe, tea and coffee facilities, ceiling fans, a veranda and an outside braai. Guests may also eat at the Desert Horse Inn restaurant, which the operator places seven kilometres away by road. The restaurant, bar and swimming pool at Desert Horse Inn are available to Eagle’s Nest guests, together with 300 MB of free Wi-Fi at the main reception, laundry and secure parking. Excursions, six hiking trails and mountain biking are bookable through the estate. Children up to 5 stay free and children 6 to 13 pay 50 per cent.
