Kaoko Mopane Lodge & Campsite lies about 6 km south-east of Opuwo, set under mopane trees on the edge of a dry riverbed. The property has eleven double or twin luxury rooms, seven private campsites and one overland campsite. Luxury rooms have a private terrace facing the dry riverbed, en-suite bathrooms, a coffee station, water cooler, fridge, fan and mosquito nets, and breakfast is included in the room rate. Each of the seven private campsites has its own ablution facility with hot water, a 220V power point and a braai place under mopane shade. The overland campsite has a shared ablution block with three toilets and eight showers, hot water and a braai place. Solar lighting and 24-hour security are provided across the property, and free Wi-Fi covers the lodge and grounds. The operator offers Himba cultural experiences with visits to a Himba village in the surrounding Kunene Region, and rooms and campsites are booked separately.
