Kunene River Lodge lies on the south bank of the Kunene River on the D3700 west of Ruacana, on the road towards Swartbooisdrift and Epupa. Accommodation is in self-catering units, A-Frame tented rooms and Deluxe rooms, together with twelve campsites. Self-catering units have a twin bedroom, air conditioning, en-suite shower and toilet, a fully equipped kitchen with utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware for two, an outside braai area and private indoor and outdoor dining areas. A-Frame rooms sleep two in twin beds with en-suite shower, washbasin and toilet, a coffee station and a mini-fridge, while Deluxe rooms are air-conditioned with en-suite facilities and most have an anteroom. The twelve campsites sit under leadwood and jackalberry trees, most overlooking the river, with water and electricity, braai areas and separate ablution blocks each holding four toilets, four hot-and-cold showers and washbasins. Camp guests may use all lodge facilities, restaurant meals for campers are by special request, and laundry is not normally available to campers. The lodge has a swimming pool on a lawn and a bar and restaurant with a deck over the river; activities include white-water rafting at Ondorusu Gorge, birding cruises, Himba cultural visits and sunset river cruises.
