Okarohombo Community Campsite lies on the banks of the Kunene River at the head of the Marienfluss Valley in northern Kaokoland, within the Marienfluss Conservancy. The campsite has five large sandy campsites set under ana trees on the river bank. There are two ablution blocks with showers and toilets, and water is solar-heated, with tap water available on site. Each site has a fireplace and braai area. The camp sits at the northern end of the Marienfluss Valley, an area populated by Himba communities. Activities listed for guests are bird watching, walking and photography. The camp is community-operated and the conservancy notes that it is not always possible to make contact and book in advance, so most travellers arrive unbooked and pay on site. Access is by 4×4 only, typically via Van Zyl’s Pass or the Marienfluss track.
