North-Central Namibia Accommodation

North-Central Namibia is the densely settled belt across the top of the country — Oshakati, Ongwediva, Ondangwa, Outapi, Eenhana, Oshikango and Omuthiya — reached on the B1 north of Tsumeb and on the roads running west towards Ruacana and east towards Rundu. This is not classic safari country. Most visitors pass through on the way to the Kunene, the Angolan border at Oshikango, or the Kavango and Zambezi rivers, and the accommodation reflects that: town hotels, pension hotels, guesthouses, backpackers and rest camps built for business travellers, cross-border traffic and overnight stops rather than for game viewing. The largest concentration is along the Oshakati–Ongwediva–Ondangwa corridor, with smaller clusters at Outapi, Eenhana and Omuthiya.
