Gondwana Hakusembe River Lodge sits on the Okavango west of Rundu, on a stretch of river where the far bank is Angola. It is one of the longest-established properties on this part of the river and among the more comfortable, with lawns running down to the water and the birdlife that comes with a permanent river in an otherwise dry country. The position west of town means you avoid Rundu itself while still being close enough for fuel and supplies. It works well as the first or last night of a Kavango and Zambezi leg, and as a decompression stop after the long drive up from Grootfontein.
