Ombe Guestfarm & Safari lies 19 km east of Hochfeld on the C31 in the red Kalahari sandveld, 215 km from Windhoek and 160 km from Hosea Kutako International Airport. The guest farm covers 5,840 hectares and has been in the same family for four generations. Accommodation is spacious en-suite rooms with a veranda and garden view, Wi-Fi and ceiling fans. There is a biological swimming pool, a bar area and a separate campground, both overlooking game-viewing waterholes. Catering is German-Namibian, with the farm largely self-sufficient through home-made bread and jams and fresh fruit and vegetables from the organic garden, and guests may take dinner privately rather than with the hosts. Activities include sundowner game drives, farm drives, hiking trails of 2.7 km and 5.5 km, night safaris in summer, birdwatching with over 300 recorded species, stargazing through a telescope and cooking with local staff. Children under 8 receive reduced or free activity rates.
