Onguma Forest Camp sits on the Onguma reserve on Etosha’s eastern boundary, close to the Von Lindequist gate and the Namutoni side of the park. The camp is set among tall trees, which gives it a shaded, enclosed feel quite different from the open-plain lodges on the southern approach. Staying east rather than south is a real strategic choice: the eastern gate gives quicker access to the Fisher’s Pan and Namutoni waterholes and is much less congested than Andersson, and it suits travellers arriving from Tsumeb or continuing to the Kavango afterwards.
