Vingerklip Lodge takes its name and its drama from the Vingerklip, or ‘rock finger’, a 35-metre limestone pillar that rises abruptly from the Ugab Valley like the remnant of some vanished cathedral. The lodge sits in the shadow of this landmark on the eastern edge of Damaraland, surrounded by flat-topped mesas that recall the American Southwest.
