Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge stands on the C14, 55 km from Solitaire, 120 km from Sesriem and 180 km from Sossusvlei. It is the northernmost of the lodges normally used as a Sossusvlei-region base, on the road linking Solitaire with the Kuiseb and Walvis Bay. Accommodation is in domed desert bungalows; the lodge has an a la carte restaurant serving meat dishes with vegetables and salads. The lodge has its own 1,600 m private landing strip. Hiking is offered from the lodge; the distance from Sesriem makes it better suited to travellers breaking the drive than to early-morning dune visits.
