Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge stands on Lupala Island in the Kwando-Linyanti river system, less than 300 m from the Nkasa Rupara National Park boundary in the Wuparo Conservancy, about 75 km south of Kongola. The lodge has ten tents built from steel, canvas and wood with fitted doors and windows, each with en-suite bathroom facilities; one unit has an outdoor bath and shower and one is a family unit with an additional twin bedroom. The lodge is energy self-sufficient, generating electricity and heating water by solar panels, with charging sockets in the tents. A three-storey central building holds the bar, dining room, lounge and kitchen, and there is a plunge pool with a covered seating area. Accommodation is on a half-board basis with breakfast and dinner; drinks are not included. Activities are 4WD day and night game drives, boat trips, guided walks, birdwatching, fishing and cultural excursions. The lodge is unfenced and animals move freely through the site, and self-drive guests park in Sangwali village and transfer by 4WD.
